The Complete Blood Count (CBC) measures the essential components of the blood, including white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. It is a screening test to evaluate overall health; detect and/or identify a wide range of hematologic disorders; assist in managing medications/chemotherapeutic decisions
The CBC measures the amount of red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), and platelets in your blood.
A CBC can be done as part of a routine checkup to screen for problems or because a child isn't feeling well.

Blood (venipuncture—a needle is used to draw blood from a vein)
